In the poem seems that Emily, the poet, describes the life of an animal which is a dog. I can say that it is dog because he and his owner go to the mountain to hunt animals in this case it is the doe, and everytime they go there the animals are scared of him, [the dog]. He feels he has to protect his onwer until the day he is dead.
For me, Emily shows how faithful an animal can be. The dog loves his onwer, he likes sleeping next to him.
By Emily, you mean the poet, Dickinson? Can you identify a line where there is a reference to a dog in this poem? Why would a dog's life stand as a "loaded gun"?
