Night thoughts sukari Lopez

I believe from reading the short story and listening to my class mates that the character in the story has a lot of issues going on with his life and faces them every night as he tries to sleep and deal with it. I also believe he is hiding himself and is gay with a family and children because he wanted to be accepted in this world. But I think that all those feelings eat him alive at night and i also believe that his wife is cheating on him and probably has an idea of him being homosexual. I think their relationship is a bit weird and maybe she has something to do with him being gay since she treats like a woman.

  1. I think you should reread this story once again. In order to support the argument that the husband/father in "Night Thoughts" is a homosexual, we would need textual support. Also, consider what the author is trying to convey via this story by: putting the father/husband on the Pill, having him protest against media objectifying men as if they were pieces of meat, having him worry about men in prostitution and why more men are not taking an active part in the government, having him worry about wives abusing their husbands as well as many men dying as a result of physical abuse inflicted by their wives...Think about the media coverage of these issues and what you know from your courses (history, biology). Has Simpson switched the men for women and vice versa in her story?
