"To His Coy Mistress" & "My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun" - Noelia Lara

In both poems "To His Coy Mistress" an "My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun", the one thing that caught my attention was the comparison in which they both were created. The two poems were metaphorical. It might be that both were telling different stories and had their own unique scenery but in their comparison they also had the same message. 

In "To His Coy Mistress" the love of an unknown man towards the unknown women was inevitable, and at the same time admiring. The whole point of the poem was to express his feelings towards life and his goal to embrace every moment of it with the female shownn in the peom. It states that life is to short to live and this could be compared with "My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun" because it also gave a message in regards to life being short and how dieng is the true background of life.
