"Is female to male as nature is culture"

It seems that female always will be inferior to men. Reading this passage there shows  the  root of the cultures, and cultures surrounding our society. It clear in text that women won't have the same right as men have. It's like this came from long ago time. So it's will be hard to change that. Even though, today we see some excellent leading big companies.

  1. I think that no matter how hard we try to make a difference in society's beliefs that women can never be equal to men, this ideal won't change. Everything has its roots in history and even though the world evolves, the concept of man and women will stay the same.

  2. Since the beginning of time it has been debated that women "belong in the kitchen", but they believe they are way more than that. Women do not limit themselves, and this article attempts to portray an insight as to where women stand since the beginning of time even when they rightfully was higher (in status) than a man.

Since the twenty first century, women have come a long way, has worked their way up to positions some men cannot dream to accoplish, but then the mentality of women are iferior to men still plague the minds of men and women sometimes can find it hard to accomplish the goal set out.

  3. I agree with Frances. Women will never be equal to men. We will always be considered to weaker sex, being that we are the feminine one of the two. Although todays society seems to say that its easier for a women to get a job, rather than a man

  4. I definitely agree with Frances. Just like we read in the other stories, women and men are stereotyped to certain roles, and when the roles are reversed, society looks at them funny. Men are known to be the stronger figure in the society and that women almost as if look up to them, and kind of just follow in their foot steps. Even though, over the years, women have definitely gained much more respect in certain areas, I truly still believe that men are viewed as the power holding role in todays society.

  5. This is a great discussion :)
Luis and Frances- how do we change histroy?
Moheni- by stating that "women stand since the beginning of time even when they rightfully was higher (in status) than a man." isn't that just detrimental as men devaluing women?
Tiyanna- why is it believed that today it is easier for women to get a job? Job or career?
Karolina- glad you connecting this reading to the short stories

  6. "Is female to male as nature is culture" - I disagree with Luis about women always being inferior to men. Yes this is portrayed throughout the article but in reality women are not inferior to men when it comes to dealing with not only jobs now ay days but in being a women itself. Taking care of the family, nurturing and giving birth are things that nature contributed to making women more powerful.

  7. Miss B- I say that because in todays society many jobs would rather higher a teenage female, rather than a teenage male.

  8. Noelia- I don't think Luis is stating that this is true but that it is rooted in history?
Tiyanna- I agree, and this is an important point, but why? Why are women, teenage females, hired for jobs over men?
