"To My Coy Mistress" Diana Barbecho

After reading the poem i can say that there is a man behind the poem. This man describe all the things that he could say to this mistress to capture her attention. For me, the mistress that he desires to have is  of a young woman. It seems that he admire her beauty but at the same time he wants her to reject him.

  1. Interesting- so he 'describes' what he 'could' say but doesn't actually say them? Is this part of his strategy? Is it effective? Why do you say that he wants her to reject him?
