Compared to the other short
stories that I read so far, this one was very interesting to read, as well as
disturbing. What was disturbing was the amount of dedication Delia had regardless of how much she was being abused, as
well as how long she was willing to put up with it. As well as the
abuse, Sykes was also cheating on his wife and he comes up with a plan
with his mistress to poison his wife, which is absolutely disgusting.
This truly showed how replaceable he really thought his wife was. The ending of
this short story was defiantly a satisfying one.
What was more disturbing- Delia putting up with the abuse or Sykes' abuse of Delia? Both?
